Dorothy Godfrey Gill, 77, of Petersburg, Virginia, passed away on Friday September 21, 2012. Born in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Priscilla Godfrey. Dot was a proud member of Christ and Grace Episcopal Church in Petersburg, Virginia. A graduate of Westhampton College, Dot was an avid University of Richmond Spiders fan. She was an award-winning realtor at Century 21 Colonial Realty and a member of the Southside Virginia Association of Realtors. Dot belonged to a host of organizations which include, The Petersburg Garden Club, Book Club, Junior Women’s Club, D.A.R., and the Travelers Protective Association. She also held a special place in her heart for her dogs and cats. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Marvin Gill; daughter, Brooke White and husband, Steve Brooking; sons, Stephen White, Jr. and wife, Debbie, Thomas White and wife, Janet, Meade Gill, Randy Gill and wife, Emily; grandchildren, Spencer White, Sam White, Gracie White, Stephen White, III., Charlie Harmer, Zac Gill, Alyssa Gill, and Leah Gill; three great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday September 27, 2012 at Christ and Grace Episcopal Church in Petersburg.
