Barbara Riddle Goodrich, born November 11, 1932, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg after a brief illness. Bobbie was a devoted Christian, mother, aunt, neighbor and friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed at the churches, fire department, Ruritan Club, community center, lunch bunch and in the Burrowsville Community. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton E. and Minnie Harrison Riddle; her aunt, Nora Harrison; her husband’s parents, Willie B. Goodrich, Sr and Virginia Price Goodrich; her husband, Willie B . Goodrich, Jr; an infant son; great uncle, Harrison Livesay; two great aunts, Myrtie Goodrich Livesay and Ruth Goodrich Wells; four sisters, Velma Riddle Novak, Marion Riddle Eggleston, Hazel Riddle Williamson and Virginia Riddle Walker; brother, Loren Ray Riddle; and nephew, Alvin Raymond Krauth, Jr. She is survived by a son, Willie Benjamin Goodrich, III; and a daughter, Kimberly Jane Goodrich, both of Burrowsville, VA; a sister, Joan Riddle Rodgers; two brothers, Clifton E. Riddle, Jr and Larry G. Riddle; and eight nieces and six nephews whom she loved dearly. Barbara also cherished her special friendships with Nancy Pelter, Ann Hatch, Jimmy Olgers and Ronnie Dunford. She graduated from Disputanta High School in 1950 and worked with her sister, Jenny, as an operator for the Telephone Company after graduation. She was a devoted member of Martin’s Brandon Episcopal Church in Burrowsville. She attended weekly bible study at Martin’s Brandon Episcopal Church and Salem United Methodist Church in Burrowsville. She was also a member of the Burrowsville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxillary. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Martin’s Brandon Episcopal Church, 18706 James River Dr., Disputanta, VA 23842, with the Reverend Eve Butler-Gee presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
