Elsie M. Parker

Elsie Moss Parker, 82, of Hopewell, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012. She was a longtime member of the South Hopewell Church of God. Mrs. Parker greatly enjoyed cooking. She loved her family and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Parker is preceded in death by her husband, Odie Harvey Parker; and her parents, William P. and Ida M. Moss. She is survived by her daughters, Edith P. Winters and Pamela K. Parker, both of Hopewell; her son, Bert Parker and his wife, Sandra, of Chester; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, James Moss and his wife, Helene, of Rocky Mount, NC; numerous nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Thurman Collier officiating. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park in Chester.
