Howard Lee Huff, 79, of Crewe, Virginia passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 1, 2021 after a long, hard battle with health issues. He was born in Prince Edward County, VA to Henry and Mary Huff on July 8, 1941. He went to school in Blackstone, VA. He married Eleanor Garner on June 10, 1983 in Crewe, VA. He worked and retired as a Pipefitter for Hercules for thirty-five plus years. He was a member of Crewe Baptist church, and had been attending Beacon Hill Church in Hopewell, VA for the last two years. He was a former Mason and served his country proud serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed and shared his love of hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Henry Jackson Huff, his mother Mary Lee Huff, his wife Eleanor Garner Huff, his sister Jackie Huff Flynn, and his brother George Melvin Huff. He is survived by his son, James K. Happel, Jr., and his wife Tina; his daughter, Melinda P. Happel; four grandchildren, Kristie Mays and her husband Robert; Shanon Sharpe and her husband Jonathan; Michael Hawthorne, Jake Banton; sister-in-law, Faith Huff; six nieces, Jennifer Davis and her husband Jack; Amy Browder, and her husband Jimmy; Teresa Wilson, and her husband Chris; Darlene Daniel, and her husband Jeff; Beverly LaVelle, and her husband Jeff; Crystal Ostrander, and her husband David; one nephew, David Huff, and his wife Tracey; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Crewe Baptist Church in Crewe, VA with Michael Moore of Beacon Hill Church, officiating. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at 10:00 am. The Interment to follow at Crewe Cemetery.
