Janice Coleman Pace, 92, of Petersburg, Virginia, died on January 13, 2022. Born in Wilmington, Delaware, and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Odell Rhoda Coleman. She had been a lifelong resident of Petersburg, Virginia and member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1952. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose passions were family, dining with friends, and service to the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Pace III, of Petersburg; a brother, Ted Coleman; and a sister, Elizabeth Roach. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Pace Brice, and her husband, Turner Brice, of Valdosta, Georgia; and her son, John T. "Buster" Pace IV, and his wife, Gail G. Pace, of Kiawah, South Carolina; grandchildren, Michael A. Telle, Brittany L. Neilson, Thomas H. Pace, Coleman L. Brice, and Rebecca J. Weathington; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Trinity Methodist Church with the Rev. Craig Buxton, officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery.
