We are honored to inform you that on Sunday, September 17, 2017, Lee Edward Cox received a new set of lungs as he entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife Madge W Cox, son James E Cox, brothers Herbert Cox, Willie Cox, Ernest Cox, and Benton Cox, and sister Della Mae White. Lee’s daily prayer was that not one person die without knowing the Lord as their personal Savior. The family hopes that no one will let the opportunity for salvation pass. Lee leaves behind daughters, Sandra C. Bennett and husband, James of Chesapeake, VA, Janet C. Janeka and husband, George of Prince George, VA, Toni C. Shepherd of Hopewell, VA, and Colleen C. Cox of Chesterfield, VA. He also leaves behind sisters, Ruby C Ball and husband, Don of Elk Garden, VA, Mary C. Whited and husband, Howard of Bristol, VA, and Linda Cox of MD; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, his church family and far too many friends to list. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at the City Point Restoration Church of God, 2300 Bluefield St., Hopewell, VA 23860.
