Lewis Landon Knode

Lewis Landon Knode, 86, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022. Born in Pulaski, VA, he was the son of the late Arvel Monroe and Ruby Stover Knode; and was also preceded in death by seven brothers. He faithfully served his country for 2 years in the National Guard, before joining the Air Force for 8 years. Mr. Knode was the owner and operator of Jay's Clothing in Cavalier Square for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #146 and the VFW #637 both in Hopewell. Mr. Knode will be remembered by his family as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Norinda Knode; three children, Lewis Knode, Jr. (Eileen), Paul Knode (Angie), and Gail Koch (Jeff); six grandchildren, Cassie (Terry), Kristina (Austin), Ryan (Meagan), Emily, Mallory, and Bryce; seven great-grandchildren, Madison, Grayson, Dom, Kensley, Holden, Brinley, and Hannah; one sister, Julia E. Howard (Olaf); and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Appomattox Cemetery, Hopewell, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
