Mae Ann Vaughan, 84, of Prince George passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020. Born June 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Ethel Wyatt, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Travis E. Vaughan; two brothers, Buddy and Roy Wyatt; and sister, Marie “Polly” Smith. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church. Mae was an avid quilter and reader, and she loved knitting. She was once very involved in working with ceramics and porcelain, and enjoyed taking her creations to different shows with her daughter. An avid bowler, she was a member of two different bowling leagues: The Senior Hotshots, where her team was Three Gals and a Guy, and Tuesday A.M. Quads, where her team was the Phantom Strikers. She is survived by her son, Larry Vaughan (Sarah); daughter, Nancy V. Shaffer (Larry); grandsons, Dylan T. and James E. Vaughan; and other extended family members. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss Funeral Homes, 820 W. Broadway, Hopewell, Virginia 23860.
