Marilyn Grey Barrett

Marilyn Grey Barrett, 87, of Chester, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. Born in Marion, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late, Mack Morris and Rachel Viola Morris Coalson. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Barrett Sr.; her son, James Henry Barrett Jr.; and a great-grandson, Jonathan Henry Coghill. She is survived by five children, Dorothea Carol Smith and her husband, Jim, Brenda Joyce Carroll and her husband, Mike, Theresa Ann Cook and her husband, Bud, Marilyn Darlene Bishop and her husband, Gil, and Timothy Mark Barrett and his wife, Karen; daughter-in-law, Pam Barrett; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Janey, Martha, Betty, and Linda. Mrs. Barrett was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
