Renate Mary Reber

July 8, 1928 — February 24, 2015

Renate Reber, 86, of Hopewell passed away on February 24, 2015, after a period of declining health. Mrs. Reber was born on July 8, 1928, in Rosenberg OS Germany, now Olesno Poland. She attended nursing school at the Red Cross Hospital in Bamberg Germany and specialized in pediatric nursing. It was there that she met her future husband, Fred Reber, who was stationed in Germany while serving in the US Army. They married in Boston in 1955 and she dedicated her life to her family and church. Renate played the organ and sang in the choir for over 30 years. Additionally, she taught Sunday School and was skilled at floral arranging. Renate is survived by her daughter Barbara Linster (Bob), and son Christopher Reber (Linda); 4 grandchildren Evan Reber, Nathan Reber, Donna Cramer (Charles) and Bob Linster, Jr.; three great-grandchildren Heather, Becky and Christopher Cramer and one great-great grandchild Cameron James; a sister, Baerbel Stauss (Rudi); two brothers, Jorg Siedersleben (Gudrun) and Dieter Siedersleben along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015, 11:00 am, at the New Apostolic Church, 2606 City Point Road, Hopewell, VA 23860. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Apostolic Church, attn: Music Fund. The family is being served by the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
