Richard James “Rick” Freeburn, 52, of Prince George, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 20, 2015. He was a loving husband and father. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Dean Freeburn, Sr. and Mary Olga Popig Freeburn. Rick was the owner and operator of FIXN-AC and had been in the heating and air business for 30 years. He was an avid drag racer that always opened his garage to anyone. Rick was best known for his willingness to help others and his incredible cooking and grilling skills. You could always find Rick on the back deck in the company of his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, of 32 years, Lynn Freeburn; daughter, Kimberly Marie Huggins and her husband, Chris, of Richmond; son, Richard James “RJ” Freeburn, Jr. of Prince George; one granddaughter, the apple of his eye, Ariadne “Ari” Huggins of Richmond; brother, Dean Freeburn; sister, Pat Freeburn; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Some of his devoted friends include, Richard Gormley, Billy and Annette Mace, Dee Short, Greg Showns, Donnie Smith, and Kenny Young. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA.
