Addie Elizabeth Haynes, 82, of Hopewell, widow of Eugene Haynes, passed away Monday, April 09, 2007. Born in Prince George, she was the daughter of the late James Everett and Lelia Corner Jackson. She was a lifelong member of Rosewood Presbyterian Church and a retired bookkeeper for R. H. Joel Jewelry Store and Temple Avenue (Palmerâ??s) Service Center in Colonial Heights. Mrs. Haynes was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia H. Midgett; brother, James E. Jackson, Jr.; and sister, Gladys J. Eubank. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Smith and husband, Gary of Sandston, VA; grandchildren, John Smith and wife, Crystal, Donald Smith, Daniel Smith, Mandy Confer and husband, Chris, and Tony Midgett; great-grandchildren, Kaelynn, Catie, Jordan, Raleigh, and Grayson; brothers, Harold Jackson and wife, Joan of Hopewell and Johnny Jackson and wife, Mary of North Carolina; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Hopewell Health Care Center for the care and support shown to Mrs. Haynes during her illness. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, April 11, at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, at Rosewood Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Harry Johns officiating. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens.
