Adella Marie Harvanek Swimeler

Adella Marie Harvanek Swimeler, 83, of Dinwiddie, VA., passed away, Thursday, December 17, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Swimeler; parents, Julius and Helen Harvanek; siblings, Elsie Harrison, George Harvanek and Alvin Harvanek. Adella had been member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church since 1950, she was very active serving numerous committees throughout the years and was especially devoted to bringing others to church and visiting the sick.She is survived by her children, Kelly Tavenner (Chris), Cathy McLean (Keith), Mary Ann Poliquin (Ron); devoted friends, Gracie Jolly and Randy Roberts; grandchildren, Clinton Griffin, Jr., Eric Daniels (Andrea), Richard Burton (Dana), Ryan Tavenner, Ashton Tavenner; great-grandchildren, Porter Daniels and Jackson Griffin; brothers, Jules Harvanek (Barbara), Edward Harvanek, Raymond Harvanek (Darlene); sisters, Margaret Belcher, Roselyn Henshaw, Mildred Mulder (Huss) and Edith Daulton (Vernon) and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, December 20, 2015 at J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home 6616 Boydton Plank Road Dinwiddie, VA 23803, where a service will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, December 21, 2015 with Pastor Allan T. Murphy and Pastor Andrew Ware officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park.
