Adrian Arnold Slimmen

Adrian Arnold Slimmen, 79, of Sutherland, VA, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He devoted many hours volunteering in his church, Nazareth Lutheran Church, Hopewell, VA and in the community. He loved woodworking, fishing and volunteering at the local Elementary School. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Violet Slimmen; wife of 54 years, Carolyn Joyce Slimmen; five brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his sons, Thomas James Slimmen (wife, Atesheh), David Allan Slimmen (wife, Kimberly); grandchildren, Alania Conroy (husband, Kevin), Derek Slimmen, Cody Slimmen (wife, Jamie), and Heather Slimmen-Smith (husband, James); great-grandchildren, Kiera Conroy, Olivia Conroy, and Wesson Smith.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 11:00 am at Nazareth Lutheran Church, 1711 Grant Street, Hopewell, VA 23860. Immediately following the memorial there will be a luncheon at the church. Memorial donations in his name may be made to Nazareth Lutheran Church.
