Mrs. Adrienne Wallace, 53, of Hopewell, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosalie Sims (nee Miltak) and Louis Edward Sims.
Mrs. Wallace graduated from Jewett-Scio High School in 1988 in Scio, Ohio. She then began her career in the United States Army and served 10 years deployed to operational territories, including serving in Desert Storm. She was even given the honor of being named the 6th Army Soldier of the year in 1993.
Mrs. Wallace was a fixture in the local community as a reporter and editor with the Hopewell News, the Prince George Journal, the Dinwiddie Monitor, and the Progress Index.
Mrs. Wallace has been involved in the community through volunteering with several organizations, including the Prince George Local Emergency Management Committee and Hopewell-Prince George Crime Solvers. Additionally, Mrs. Wallace served on various boards and committees throughout her time living in the Prince George area. In her spare time, Mrs. Wallace enjoyed boating on the James River, cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and experimenting in the kitchen.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by her loving husband, William Wayne Wallace, of Hopewell, VA; daughter, Lindsey K. Story, of Richmond, VA; brother, Stephen R. Sims, of Stoney Creek, OH; and sister, Venetia A. Sims of Hopewell, VA.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at Wesley United Methodist Church, 2901 Norfolk Street, Hopewell, VA 23860, where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM.
