Agnes Lenore Boyd

Agnes Lenore Boyd, 90, of Chester, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 01, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Nellie Herrold Goble; husband, Russell H. Boyd, Sr; two sons, Russell Boyd, Jr. and Ronald Boyd; and brother, Reverend Melvin Goble. She was active in church her whole life, was a stay at home mother while raising her four boys and held a few jobs during her life. Her and her husband, Russell traveled doing missionary work after his retirement. She loved serving the Lord, helping people in need and preaching the word of God. Agnes was a member of Life Church in Colonial Heights, VA and served in the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program (MMAP). She was also a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution and the Red Hatter’s Club. She is survived by two sons, Richard L. Boyd, Sr. and wife, Ellie of Chester, VA, and E. Raymond Boyd of Blanchard, MI; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends. A graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan at a later date.
