Agnes Marie Brankley, 93, of North Chesterfield, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2024. She is preceded in death by her husband; Henry O. Brankley; her parents, Ernest S. Toombs and Florence J. Toombs; and all her brothers and sisters.
Agnes is survived by her son, Henry D. Brankley, of North Chesterfield; her daughter, Diane B Zimmerman (husband, Frank), of Florida; her grandchildren, Tabitha Zaun (husband, Scott), of Powhatan, Matthew Zimmerman (wife, Kindle), of Amelia; her great-grandchildren, Carter and Brayden Zaun, of Powhatan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank to Pamela W. Hogwood for her unwavering dedication, Mary Handy & John Barlow for their special & loving relationship and care for Agnes, also longtime friends Lelia & Robert Young (Pidge, son), Mary Musslewhite, and of course, all of her wonderful church family & family friends.
Agnes was born on August 7, 1930, in Charlotte County, Virginia, being one of seven children and the last surviving sibling. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Henry, and they were married 65 years when he passed in 2016. She was a member of Ivey Memorial Methodist Church in South Chesterfield. She was a very active member of her church and involved in a lot of activities.
She cherished the time she spent with her family and had the largest smile on her face at all times and everyone you ask would state that as a part of their description of her. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Ivey Memorial Methodist Church will be greatly appreciated.
