Alan Pruett

Alan Joseph Pruett, age 50, of Chester, VA passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006. He was born in Mecklenburg County, VA the son of Joyce P. and Joseph T. Pruett who currently reside in Chase City, VA. Mr. Pruett began a teaching career in Chesterfield County, and was currently serving as the Assistant Principal of Carver Middle School. He loved boating, was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Pruett was also very active in coaching high school baseball and football. He is also survived by a wife of 21 years, Robin H. Pruett of Chester; a son, Jason A. Pruett of Chester; two brothers, Warren Pruett and wife Melanie of Chesterfield, and Wayne Pruett and wife Cara of Chase City; a sister Rhonda Hostetter and husband Joe of Chase City; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Evalyn Hunter of Chester; a special niece, Shawna Johns of Alexandria, VA; and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Chesterfield on Saturday, July 15, from 3 to 5 p.m. where funeral services will follow on Sunday, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Bermuda Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions are made to Massey Cancer Center the Thomas Palliative Care fund P.O. Box 980037 Richmond, VA 23298-0037 or an educational trust fund set up on behalf of Jason A. Pruett in care of Robin Pruett which can receive deposits at any Wachovia bank.
