Alan Richard Tougas, 94, of Chesterfield, VA, passed away on February 28, 2025.
Alan was born on October 19, 1930, in Hudson Falls, NY.
He was a graduate from Indiana University where he obtained a Master's in Education and went on to teach for 27 years at Thomas Dale High School in Chester, VA, after serving in the Navy and Airforce during the Korean War.
Alan and Ann Tougas were married for 68 years and went on to have three children, sons, Jeff Tougas (Neal) and Scott Tougas (Lynn); and daughter, Suzanne Stephens; grandchildren, Ashley Norman (Rick), Joey Taylor (Jessica), Kelsie Mann (David), Morgann Siegel (Matt), Kaysen Taylor (Devon), Rachel Mathews (John), and Jacob Tougas; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alan was an intricate part of the Trinity United Methodist Church Mission team, volunteered many years for Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed building handicap ramps for Elder (Project) Homes.
Alan, predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Elizbeth Tougas; and ten brothers and sisters.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, teacher, and church member.
A service will not be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Alan's honor to Habitat for Humanity at secure.habitat.org or Trinity UMC, P.O. Box 2527, Chesterfield, VA 23832, for the 'Dream Like Jesus Fund'.
