Albert G. Clark passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Southside Regional Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia. Born May 18, 1937 in Scott County, Mississippi, the son of the late Boots and Tennie Harrell Clark.
Al was a Vietnam Veteran enlisting in the USAF in 1954, where he proudly served his country for 22 years before retiring only to then work for the US Army for 28 years. He was very proud of the US Flag that was flown at the White House that he was presented for his 50 years of service to the United States Military.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Boots and Teenie Harrell Clark; brother, Jimmy Clark; sister, Geraldine Clark Hall; his son, David Clark; and stepson, Gregory Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Smith Clark of Chesterfield Co.; brother, Steve (Karen) Clark; and children, Michael (Melinda) Clark, Lori (Jim) Schultz, Rita (Ernie) Meador and Anita Long. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren that he adored, as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Al was an avid hunter who considered his friends from the Ponderosa Hunt Club in Cumberland County, Virginia to be his family.
Al will be remembered forever for living life on his terms, for loving his family, for honoring his word and for staying true to what he believed. He will be loved and missed immeasurably.
Visitation will be held at Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., with services and interment immediately following at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 West Hundred Rd. Chester, VA 23831.
