Albert Leroy Franklin

Albert Leroy Franklin, 84, of Matoaca, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Born in Loudon Co., VA, he was the son of the late Marvin Franklin and Lucy Rector Franklin. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Janie Holbert and her husband, Eddie; and brother, John Franklin and his wife, Annabelle.
Albert was a proud Veteran having served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a property manager with Lerner corporation, retiring after many years. Albert was a true “handyman,” and there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix or build. In his early life, he had a strong passion for farming and raising cattle. Working on the farm meant a lot to him. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and shooting skeet. He loved to watch old westerns and listen to country music. Albert was known for his dress attire, cowboy boots. He is loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Franklin; daughter, Patricia Franklin Hanks and her husband, Doug; grandson, Michael Franklin Morris; stepchildren, Andrew Torrence and his wife, Alice, Jeffrey Torrence, and Susan Torrence.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Wesley Chapel UMC, Matoaca, VA. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
