Albert West

Albert Leigh West, 90, a lifelong resident of Petersburg, VA passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022. Born on July 11, 1932 in Petersburg he was the son of the late William Thomas and Lucy Jones West; and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Joyce Westmoreland West; and five brothers and sisters. Mr. West was a United States Army veteran having faithfully served his country during the Korean War. He had been the Owner and General Manager of the The Harlow-Hardy Co. Inc. Furniture store located in Petersburg. Mr. West was an avid golfer and was a member of the Country Club of Petersburg. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Fred Shultz and wife, Margaret, Barbara Lewis, Steve Shultz and wife, Penn, Donna Clark and husband, Stephen, Jeff Page and wife, Jerri, Tim Page and wife, Dixie, Cheryl McLean and husband, Ron, Kim Strotman and husband, Brian and Tammy Jordan and husband, John; his devoted caregiver, Floreen Danquah; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Second Presbyterian Church, 419 W. Washington St., Petersburg, VA 23803 with Pastor Archibald Wallace, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
