Alease Powell Walker

Alease Powell Walker, 76, of Dinwiddie, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015. Born in Brunswick County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Clarence and Polly Ann Powell Jones. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lawrence E. Jones, Robert G. Jones, and Howard L. Jones. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James M. Walker, Sr.; daughter, Debbie W. Witt and husband, Jerry; son, James M. Walker, Jr. and wife, Virginia; grandchildren, Ashlee Roberts and husband, Chris, Sarah Kress and husband, Skip, Jonathan Jarrett, and Stephanie Joyner and husband, Ray; great-grandchildren, Walker Roberts, Waylon and Rowan Kress, Noah Moore, and Aiden Jarrett; sisters, Elsie L. Bushman and Ola Mae Walker, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Burton officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
