Alice J. Bennett, 79, of Prince George, VA passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Born in Sandstone, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Harold Lewis and Opal Helena Johnson; and was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Basham; and long-time partner and companion, Lee Royal Lynch. Mrs. Bennett graduated from Summers County High School in West Virginia, and went on to retire from ICI Chemicals as a machine operator after many years of dedicated service. She was a long-time member of Charity Baptist Church in Prince George. Alice loved to crochet, work puzzles, do wordsearch puzzles and watching games shows. She had many loves in life, but none compared to spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will remember her as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Bennett is survived by her brother, Harold Johnson and his wife, Joanne; her children, Rexanna McCabe and her husband, Billy, Michelle Bennett, Derrick Bennett and his wife, Cherie, Michael Lynch and his wife, Donna and Stephen Lynch and his wife, Karen; grandchildren, Ashley, Lindsay, Macie, Katie, Jacob, Megan, Paul, Bryce, Chase and Sydney; two great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Faith; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at
