Alice Cabaniss

October 1, 1930 — August 11, 2024

Alice D. Cabaniss, 93, passed away on August 11, 2024. Born in Clarks Dale, Mississippi, she was the daughter of Ernest "E.D." Davis and Bela Abbott Davis. Alice is survived by her sister, Celia Barnes; son-in-law, Lewis Davis; granddaughter, Wendy Stueber (Rob); and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, E.D. and Bela Davis; her loving husband of 60 years, William B. Cabaniss; her daughter, Patricia Davis; and her brother, Darrell Davis.

Alice was a devoted member of the First Christian Church in Hopewell, VA for 13 years, never missing a Sunday service. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing Dominoes and other games with her friends and church family. Alice was loved by all who knew her. Memories of game nights with Alice will be forever cherished by her family and the large community of friends who loved her.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son. A funeral service for Alice will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11:00a.m. at the First Christian Church, in Hopewell, with burial to follow at Blandford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church at 203 N 11th Avenue, Hopewell, VA 23860.
