Alice Dancy

Alice Virginia â??Ginnyâ? Dancy passed peacefully with her family at her bedside, August 9, 2010 at MCV Hospital in Richmond. Ginny was an active member and former pianist of Salem United Methodist Church in Carson. She would have been 72 years old on August 26, 2010. She was a devoted sister, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many who loved her and she will be missed greatly. Ginny is survived by two sisters, Helen Vaughan and husband, Irving of Carson; Jeanette Agnew and husband, Harold of Floyd, VA; also two brothers, Claude Dancy and wife, Audrey of Stony Creek and Aubrey Dancy and wife, Mary Jane of Floyd, VA.; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Dwight â??L.D.â? and Alice Humphries Dancy and brother, Jimmy Dancy. Pallbearers include Frank Vaughan, Tim Vaughan, Brent Hendrick, Kevin Hendrick, Scott Finch, Patrick Wolford, Brian Vaughan and W.C. Burgess. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 11, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Salem United Methodist Church, 19312 Templeton Road, Carson, VA 23830 with burial to follow in church cemetery. Eulogies will be given by Jimmy Taylor, current pastor and former pastor Gary Sims of Salem United Methodist Church.
