Alice Martin

Alice McKenney Stout Martin, 88, of DeWitt, passed away Friday, July 30, 2004. Born in Dinwiddie County, she was a daughter of the late George and Alice Townsend McKenney, and the widow of Charles Lawrence Stout, Sr. and Edward Arthur Martin, Sr. She was a member of Rocky Run United Methodist Church and worked as a babysitter for many years, helping raise many children in Dinwiddie County. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by two daughters, Patricia Ann Stout and Frances Stout Perkinson; two sons, Charles Lawrence Stout, Jr. and William Howard Stout; a grandson, David Wayne Perkinson; and a great-grandson, Timothy Daniel Stout. She is survived by two daughters, Louise Stout Grammer of Richmond and Lucille Stout Bradner of Arizona; three sons, Robert Daniel Stout, Roy Allen Stout, and Dennis Wayne Stout all of Dinwiddie; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, John P. McKenney of Green Bay, VA. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Butterwood United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
