Alice Sue Chipps Mick, daughter of Clarence and Nelli Chipps, was born on July 16, 1931, in Cowen, West Virginia. Alice passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Lucy Corr Nursing Home in Chesterfield, Virginia.
Alice had an older brother, Lawrence, as well as three younger brothers, Williard, Roger, and Mike. She also had an older sister, Cathern, and two younger sisters, Dortha and June.
On January 16, 1950, Alice married Clarence "Babe" R. Mick, of Cowen, West Virginia, where they lived until 1950. Clarence and Alice moved to Sheffield Lake, Ohio, after Clarence came home from serving in the army. Alice then moved to Chauncey Point Retirement Community in Bowling Green, Ohio, where she made many loving friends. Alice then moved to Chester, Virginia, with her son, Timothy and daughter-in-law, Dottie Mick.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, of 44 years of marriage; their son, Clarence, Jr.; her parents, Clarence and Nelli; and her siblings, Dortha, Willard, Roger, Lawrence, and June.
Alice is survived by her sister, Cathern Chapman; brother, Mike Chipps; and children, Timothy (Dottie) Mick, Amy Mick, and Ronald (Maria) Mick.
Alice was the proud grandmother of Jennifer (James) Tietjen, Thomas (Carrie) Mick, Tanner Chamberlin, Christtina Chamberlin, Amanda (Steven) Kern, Brandon Mick, Hayden (Kayla) Mick, and Jessica (Zac) Blevins.
Alice was known as "GG" to her great-grandkids, Isaac and Ruby Tietjen, Levi and Myles Mick, Lucas and Zoey Kern, and Amelia and Faith Mick.
Alice was a member of the Avon Lake Church of the Nazarene in Avon Lake, Ohio, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for five years. She was a founding member of Calvary Ridge Church of the Nazarene in North Ridgeville, Ohio where she served as missionary president for 30 years. Alice attended Bowling Green Nazarene in Bowling Green, Ohio, and Chester Southside in Chester, Virginia. She enjoyed going on two mission trips, one to South America to show the film, "Jesus" and one to the Holy Lands "Journey of Paul" with her dear girlfriends, Florence and Nimoy.
Alice always had an open door for anyone in need of a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen to, and a loving heart for her family or friends.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of Lucy Corr for their care for these past two years.
