Allen Powell Glass

Ms. Allen Powell Glass, 96, of McKenney, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021. She was the daughter of the late George Duke Powell and Agnes Allen Powell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon William Glass; and sister, Martha Davidson.
Allen Glass worked as a teacher for Dinwiddie County Public Schools, retiring after many years. She was a faithful life-long member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in McKenney. She was an avid gardener and loved her family very much. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Gordon “Billy” Glass; George Glass (Denise); granddaughter, Ashley Creath (John); great-grandchildren, William Creath and Benjamin Creath; and nieces, Claire Davidson, and Kay Harden. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her friends and staff at the Petersburg Home for Ladies.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Cemetery, 7800 Lew Jones Rd. McKenney, VA 23872. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be donated to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Memorial Fund or to the Petersburg Home for Ladies, 311 S. Jefferson St. Petersburg, VA 23803.
