Allen "Hunka" Randolph Smith

Allen “Hunka” Randolph Smith, age 65, of South Chesterfield, VA, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Southside Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar J. Kessler, Sr. and Marie N. Smith brothers, James H. and Jerry L. Smith.
Allen’s passion was his love and pride of Battersea where he was born and raised. He made many life time friends there and could always be found in his truck parked on the corner. Even though he didn’t spend his last years in Battersea, his heart and thoughts were always there.
Allen loved history, watching Jeopardy, and was an avid collector, animal lover, story teller, and free spirit.
He is survived by his sister, Rose Lewis; nephews, Keith Bishop and Jimmy Smith; nieces, Ann Morrissette, Lynn Freeburn, and Melissa Smith, as well as many cousins, great-nephews and nieces. Some of his devoted friends include David Dudley, David Daly, and Ronnie Gott.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Blandford Cemetery.
