Allene Rice

Allene C. Rice 73, of Sutherland, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010. She is preceded in death by her parentâ??s Robert Cross Jr. and Lucille Cross.
Mrs. Rice is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Dr. Darrell Rice, daughter, Kimberly Gore and her husband J. Martin â??Martyâ? Gore Jr., two granddaughters, Lindsey and Emily, grandson, Curtis, sister, Carolyn McMahon, brother, Robert Cross and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mrs. Rice was a former school teacher for the Richmond School System, a former president of the Virginia Federation of Womenâ??s Clubs, and was a pianist and organist for several of the churches in the Petersburg Virginia area.
The family will receive friends from 7PM to 8:30PM on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at St. Markâ??s United Methodist Church 225 Claremont Street, Petersburg, Virginia 23805 where a service will be held 1:00PM on Thursday, July 22, 2010 interment to follow Southlawn Memorial Park.
