Almyra Virginia Beazley Burrow, age 90, of Salem, VA, passed away April 15, 2010. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Capt. John Wesley Burrow. She is also survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Lynn Burrow of Signal Mountain, TN, and Richard and Janet Burrow of Roanoke. Mrs. Burrow is also survived by nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and her devoted friend, Mattie Mann. Almyra Burrow spent her childhood in Prince George County, VA, the daughter of Latimer and Bertha Beazley. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Joyce Hawthorne. Mrs. Burrow spent her life making a home for her beloved husband and her two sons as they moved from community to community during her husbandâ??s 34-year career with the Virginia State Police. She was also employed as a teacher and bank teller. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Salem for 48 years. The family will receive friends Monday, April 19, 2010 at the Newville United Methodist Church, 9014 Hines Road, Disputanta, VA. from 10 to 11 am followed by a graveside service at the Burrow Family Cemetery adjacent to the church with a reception to follow.
