Alvis Leroy Lewis

Alvis Leroy Lewis, 84, of Dinwiddie, passed away on June 1, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Dyson; father, Roy Lewis; stepmother, Margaret Lewis; brother, Calvin Lewis; and sister, Janie Ritt. Leroy drove tractor trailer trucks for most of his working years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mildred Estelle (Branzelle) Lewis; 3 daughters, Lynne Laplante (Luke), Regina Richardson (Wayne), and Brenda Thompson (Al); 3 granddaughters, Elise Laplante (Keith), Cierra Main (Stephen), and Dana Laplante; 3 grandsons, Blake Richardson, Benjamin Thompson (Casey), and Alex Rosas (Sabrina); 2 great-grandsons, Jordan Mack and Tyler Richardson; future great-granddaughter, Aurora; and 2 sisters, Odelia Brockwell (Franklin) and Becky Madden (Al). The family will receive friends on Monday, June 6, 2022 from 5-7 PM at West End Baptist Church, 6506 Boydton Plank Road, Dinwiddie, where a funeral service will be held the following day at 10 AM. Interment will follow the service at Southlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation or the American Heart Association.
