Andrew Jackson “Jack” Eubank, 78, of Dinwiddie County, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2004.
A native of Lunenburg County, VA, he was a son of the late Samuel George and Mary Morehead Eubank. He was a U. S. Army veteran, a graduate of Virginia Tech University, a retired employee of Liggett & Myers Tobacco Company, and most recently retired as Executive Director of the Dinwiddie County Water Authority. He served on the Farm Bureau Board for many years, was Past-President of Gerow Ruritan Club, and a member of Western Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Eubank was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel George Eubank, Jr., Rolfe Davis Eubank, James Francis Eubank and William Montgomery Eubank and wife, Bernice. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Pittman Eubank; two sons, Andrew Jackson “Andy” Eubank, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Winchester and John Ashley Eubank and wife, Susan of Dinwiddie; grandchildren, Callie Poole, Darby Poole, A. J. Eubank, III, and Joseph Maxwell Eubank all of Winchester, Ethan Wade Eubank and Ashley Carol Eubank of Dinwiddie; sister-in-law, Betty Eubank of California; God-daughter, Dwen Moon Marek; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, at Western Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Sowers, pastor officiating. Interment will follow at Ontario Christian Church Cemetery, Keysville, VA. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Western Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 24416 Cox Road, Petersburg, VA 23803 or Crater Community Hospice, 840 W. Roslyn Road, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Services provided by the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
