She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved first grandsons, Jason Robert and Daniel Christopher Colecchia. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ernest Louis Guastella; daughters, Dianne Guastella and Christine J. Reoch and husband, Paul A. Reoch; sons, Richard Guastella and Michael S. Guastella and wife, Aurelia Henshaw Guastella; grandchildren, Jonathan Reoch and wife, Kristal Mims Reoch, Christopher Reoch and wife, Mandy Martin Reoch, Jennifer Reoch, Korissa and Anthony Guastella; great-grandchild, Aiden Christian Reoch; step-great-grandchildren, Araya Hunting and David Burgess; brother, Richard Carchiolo and wife, Josephine; sister, Paula Cataldo and husband, Nicholas, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Angela and Ernie relocated to Chester, VA in June 1994, after Ernie’s retirement from Merrill Lynch, to be near their daughter, Christine, and her family. Dianne, Michael and Richard followed their parents from New York in the following years. Angela was best known as the “Fuller Brush Lady” for over 30 years, retiring at the age of 81. Angela loved to knit many blankets and sweaters for her children and grandchildren. Angela began to knit for the Red Cross Web of Hope. After joining The Heights Baptist Church, the Prayer Shawl Ministry was formed in June 2009, from Angela’s passion for knitting. Knitters and crocheters came together on Tuesdays in fellowship to create the most beautiful array of shawls, blankets, sweaters, hats and wash cloths, serving the community and worldwide missionary organizations. The Prayer Shawl Ministry has grown since 2009, now supporting four church locations. Let us celebrate her birthday of eternity at 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 23rd at the Chester Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Angela’s name to The Heights Baptist Church (Prayer Shawl Ministry,) 17201 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
