Ann B. Bowles

Ann Darby Beville Bowles, 91, died in Richmond Saturday, April 24, 2004. She graduated from the School of Nursing at Roanoke Memorial Hospital where she worked as a registered nurse and later served as a volunteer. The widow of John Waddell Bowles, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cornelia and Benson Dexter of Williamsburg, VA; son and daughter-in-law, John and Barbara Bowles of Lexington, S.C.; granddaughters, Elisabeth Dexter of Arlington, VA and Susan Dexter of Huntington Beach, CA; and her sisters, Elvira Shaw of Colonial Heights, VA and Frances Holladay of Knoxville, TN. A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, at Asbury Memorial Cemetery, McKenney. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Pamplin Historical Park, 6125 Boydton Plank Road, Petersburg, VA 23803. Services provided by the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
