ANN ELIZABETH EMMONS, age 80, a long-time resident of Richmond, died Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Our Lady of Hope in Richmond. Born on September 18, 1926 in Boykins, VA, she was the daughter of the late Willard Ross Emmons and Mabel Reese Emmons. She is survived by several cousins.

Miss Emmons had a heart for the children of Richmond and had retired in 1988 after 35 years of service in the Social Services Division for the City of Richmond. She was a member of the Virginia Council of Social Welfare and the Richmond Community Service Board. She also participated in the Meals-on-Wheels Program for the elderly in Richmond for many years. She had a passion for her dogs, her garden, and for vacations on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She was a former member of the Boykins Baptist Church in Boykins, VA.

A graveside funeral service will be held in the Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. by the Rev. Raymond Bunn. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be sent in her memory to the Memorial Fund, Boykins Baptist Church, P.O. Box 36, Boykins, VA 23827.
