Ann D. Evans

Ann Downing Evans, 80, of S. Chesterfield, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Dennis and Ruth Traylor Downing. She was retired from Chesterfield County Schools Food Service as cafeteria manager of Ettrick Elementary after 25 years of dedicated service and a member of Matoaca United Methodist Church for 60 years. Ann was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gerald M. Evans; two sons, Gerald M. Evans, II and wife, Joni and Douglas W. Evans, and wife, Jean; five grandchildren, Michael, Johnathan, Jessica, Rebecca, and Gerald “Trey” III; one brother, Dennis Downing, Jr. and wife, Ruby; niece, Kelly Burton and husband, Christopher and nephew, Andy Downing and wife, Angie. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Matoaca United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Blandford Cemetery.
