Ann Marie Kemp

Ann Marie Kemp, 73, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021. Born in Alexandria, VA she was the daughter of the late Joseph Alvin Pierce, Sr. and Bernadine Elvira Buccilli Pierce; and was also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Ott. Mrs. Kemp was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church and was a longtime babysitter in Colonial Heights, caring for children for over 39 years. She will be remembered by her family as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Mrs. Kemp is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Roger L. Kemp; a daughter, Christy Perkins and husband, Mark; a son, David Kemp and wife, Shay; six grandchildren, Jeremy, Joseph (Emily), Miriam, Benjamin, Lydia and Elizabeth; two sisters, Jane Lee and Barbara Marks; one brother, Joe Pierce Jr. and wife, Wendy; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA with the Rev. Dr. Joey Anthony, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Because of Ann’s love for children, in lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Ronald McDonald House in memory of Ann Kemp.
