Ann Chandler Brandon McCoy, of Richmond, passed away Monday February 26, 2007. She was predeceased by her parents, Crawley & Edna Chandler, a son, William C. Brandon and a brother Crawley Chandler, Jr. She was born and raised in Church Road, Dinwiddie County and graduated from Midway High School. She attended Smithdeal Massey Business College and RPI prior to entering the business world in Petersburg, Va. She spent her early life in Petersburg and worked 17 years for Martin Builders before moving to Richmond in 1987. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Petersburg Country Club. She worked many years as a volunteer to ease the problems of the mentally retarded. In Richmond, she was a member of River Road Presbyterian Church and the Tuckahoe Womenâ??s Club, a volunteer with the Soup Kitchen serving the homeless and worked through the church helping refugees when they first arrived in Richmond. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Joseph L. McCoy, LTC, USA-Retâ??d., sons; Joseph H. Brandon of Hampton, Hunter B. Brandon of Huntsville, Al., step-sons; Robert C. McCoy (Carolyn), of Aiken, SC., and Bruce S. McCoy (Gretel) of Paris, France. A memorial service will be held Thursday March 1, 2007, 3:00 PM at Cedarfield, 2300 Cedarfield Pkwy., Richmond, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to River Road Presbyterian Church, the American Cancer Society, or a Charity of your choice.
