Ann Phillips Tyler

Ann Phillips Tyler, 95, of Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021. She was born in Petersburg, VA to the late E. Plummer Phillips, Sr. and Blanche Kidd Philips. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman R. Tyler, Jr.; brother, E. Plummer Phillips and his wife, Ruth Phillips.
Mrs. Tyler was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Petersburg. She loved her family, her church and her many friends. She lived with a purpose of helping others. For those who had the privilege to know Ann, they knew just how very special she was. Her family and friends will miss her terribly but will be forever be grateful for her inspirational life of giving.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances Tyler Hessler and her husband Robert; son, H. Reeves Tyler; granddaughters, Holly Hessler and Amy Hessler; and great-grandson, George Barber.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery.
