Anna S. Ploch Wells, 92, a resident of Suffolk, died in her home on Saturday, December 20, 2008. Born October 13, 1916 in Bagec, Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Anna Skuranj.
In 1951, Anna moved to Wakefield with her late husband, Karl D. Ploch and family. She lived in Wakefield for many years and worked at the Virginia Diner. She was a member of the Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague in Wakefield and later attended St. Maryâ??s Catholic Church in Suffolk. She was a devoted mother and loved her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Josephine P. Owney and her husband, Buddy of Suffolk; a grandson Mirko J. Ploch and his wife, Joni of Florida; a granddaughter, Marianne E. Samuel and her husband, Patrick of Chester; two great grandsons, Shawn and Ryan Samuel; and a daughter in law, Anna Ploch of Richmond. She is predeceased by her son, Mirko â??Emerikâ? Ploch who died on March 18, 1996; and an infant grandson, Michael Joseph Ploch.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at the J.T. Morriss & Son , Purviance Chapel in Wakefield at 2 PM. Burial will follow in the Wakefield Cemetery. The family will friends from 1 to 2PM before the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague in Wakefield, 1014 Clay St., Franklin, VA 23851. The family is being served by J.T.
