Anna Howard Thomas

Anna Howard Thomas, 89, of Hopewell, died on Monday July 11, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, John H. and Nannie Skidmore Howard; and three brothers. Anna graduated from Everetts High School, in Harlan Kentucky. She retired from the Hopewell School Board in 1992 after many years of service. Anna was a member of First Baptist Church in Hopewell where she was part of the Singing Saints. Anna is survived by her son, Bruce Thomas and his wife, Julie; granddaughters, Cameron E. Thomas, Casey R. Walker and her husband, Dustin; great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Walker; brothers Bill Howard, John H. Howard Jr., Hiram C. Howard; sister, Felecia J. Works; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday July 16, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home with interment to follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens in Prince George. The family will receive friends from 10am to 11am on Saturday at the funeral home.
