Anne Griffith

Anne Peden Griffith, 86, of Hopewell, died January 3, 2008. She was born in Isle of Wight County and was a resident of Hopewell for many years Mrs. Griffith was a retired sales clerk for Sears & Roebuck Company and was a member of the Woodlawn Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Estelle Wells Peden and her husband John Joe Griffith. Surviving are her son, Norman Douglas Griffith and wife Jackie of Hopewell, two grandchildren, Shelley G. Elliott and husband Kevin of Prince George, Crystal G. Barnett and husband Chip of Hopewell, four great-grandchildren, Berkeley and Hunter Elliott of Prince George, Braden and Rylie Barnett, of Hopewell, a sister Florence Johnson, a brother Floyd Davis and wife Lois all of Hopewell, sister-in-law Armeta Davis of Miami, Fla. and numerous nieces & nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 3:00P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Bellis, pastor of Woodlawn Presbyterian Church officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, Prince George, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodlawn Presbyterian Church 1201 Blackstone Ave. Hopewell, Virginia 23860
