Anne Edwards Hatch, 88, of Wakefield, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. Born on Lands End Farm in Prince George County, she was the daughter of the late Willie Epps and Rebecca Moss Edwards. Mrs. Hatch was the wife of the late James Robert Hatch and the sister of the late Rebecca Frances Hatch Martin. She was raised in Disputanta where she attended and was married at Trinity United Methodist Church. She served in numerous capacities at Wakefield United Methodist Church, including former President of the Local and District United Methodist Women, many years as the chairman of the Council of Ministries, chairman of Pastor-Parish Relations and Delegate for the Methodist Conference. Mrs. Hatch was a faithful follower of the United Methodist Discipline. She was also a member and former President of the Wakefield Woman’s Club and a member of the Frances Bland Randolph Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Hatch is survived by her daughter, Anne Elizabeth Hatch Joyner and husband, Crawford Barrett “C.B.” of Wakefield; her granddaughters who lovingly referred to her as "Other Mother", Rebecca Frances Joyner Warnick and husband, Cory of Glen Allen, and Elizabeth Anne Hatch Joyner of Powhatan; her dear friend, Ella Thomas of Elberon; as well as cousins and many special friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Disputanta. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg.
