Anne Gillette Richardson passed away August 26, 2007. She was born on February 5, 1918 in Jackson County, NC to Hugh and Sally Gillette. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major Clarence Lee Richardson, Jr. (retired). Surviving family include a son, Lee R. Richardson of Portland, OR; grandson, Damion Richardson of Pilot Mountain, NC; granddaughter, Brooke Joyce of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Hilda Linton of Mechanicsville, VA and Teresa Cowan of Summerfield, FL; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne retired from a career as a civilian Education Specialist for the U. S. Army at Fort Lee. She was a long term member of First Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA. Past member of Petersburg Area Art League and the Petersburg Women's Club and other civic organizations. She will be missed by her family and friends and the many people she helped and inspired over her full life. The family will receive friends at the J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Petersburg on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow there on Thursday at 10 a.m. Interment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
