Anne Gladin Schaaf

Anne Gladin Schaaf, 87, of Hopewell, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Newton Durden and Susie Daughtry Durden; first husband, John Gladin; second husband, Lin Schaaf; grandson, Ayden Gladin; brother, Jesse Durden; and sister, Sue Amundsen. Anne was retired from the Army & Air Force Exchange Service at Fort Lee. She is survived by her four children, Gregory Gladin (Connie), Ginger Birkner, Kirby Gladin and Kelly Gladin; nine grandchildren, Jamie Powers (Lee), Steven Gladin, Thomas Gladin (Kristina), Brian Birkner, Collin Sullivan, Claire Gladin, Andrew Gladin, Joshua Gladin and Athena Gladin; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Durden Knecht; numerous nieces and nephews; and dearest life-long friend, Hildegard Torroulla. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 26, 2018 at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherd's Place, 201 E.
