Annie Mae Harrison Blazek, 77, of Dinwiddie, passed away Friday, 9 p.m., on March 31, 2006, at the Southside Regional Medical Center. A vibrant, loving, selfless and deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, life will never be the same without her. She was born August 21, 1928, in the town of Gumberry, Northampton Co., N.C. Mrs. Blazek is a graduate of Carson High School in 1946, and she attended Spottswood Business College. She married Dr. Louis C. Blazek on October 1, 1948. Annie Mae Blazek worked at the Surgical Pathology Department of the Medical College of Virginia while her husband was attending college and dental school. For 20 years she was office manager of her husband?s dental practice in Petersburg. Throughout her life, she was very involved in Virginia and North Carolina real estate speculation. Her achievements included earning a North Carolina Broker?s license. In her retirement, she was president of H&B of Virginia, Inc., managing the Picture Lake Camp Ground in Dinwiddie, Va. Annie Mae was predeceased by Larry V. Harrison Sr., her father; Annie Mae Harrison, her mother; Larry V. Harrison Jr., her older brother; and Kenneth Ray Harrison, her nephew. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Dr. Louis C. Blazek; two sons, Charles L. Blazek and his wife, Sherry, and Glenn E. Blazek and his wife, Sue; five grandchildren, Tarah Blazek Guinn and her husband, Aaron, John C. Blazek and his wife Vanja, Charles L. Blazek, III, Daniel S. Blazek and Sarah A. Blazek; and one great-grandchild, Ella Noel Blazek. From her beloved sister and brothers, surviving Annie Mae are her sister, Virginia Harrison Livesay and her husband, Eugene C. Livesay; her brothers, Charles W. Harrison (Dewey) and his wife, Shirley, Garland W. Harrison and his wife, Agnes, Leonard F. Harrison and his wife, Doris, and Herman W. Harrison and his wife, Francis. Among the many she treasured are her 13 nephews and 13 nieces. Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, April 6, 2006 7 to 8:30 pm at the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg Chapel. On Friday, April 7, 2006 a memorial service will be held in J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Petersburg Chapel at 2:00 pm.
