Annie Thrift

Annie Laurie Clarke Thrift, 94, a lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County and widow of Henry Bolling Thrift, Sr., passed away Saturday, July 22, 2006. She was the daughter of the late John Scott and Nora Hawkins Clarke and was preceded in death by a son, William Clarke â??Rickâ? Thrift; a daughter, Mildred Joan Thrift Carr; and a grandson, William Clarke â??Billyâ? Thrift, Jr. She is survived by her son, H. Bolling Thrift, Jr. and wife, Deanie of Burkeville, VA; brother, J. S. Clarke and wife, Isabelle of Litchfield, AZ; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 25, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the charity of your choice.
