Anson "Doodle" Dunbar

Anson E. â??Doodleâ? Dunbar, Jr 67, of Disputanta, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in Chippenham Medical Center, Richmond, Va .He was born in Hopewell, Virginia.. Mr. Dunbar served in the U. S. Navy and was retired as a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his father, Anson E. Dunbar, Sr. and a brother, Robert E. Dunbar. Surviving are his wife, Mari Wood Dunbar of Disputanta, a son, Michael L. Dunbar & wife, Kathy of Richmond, a daughter, Peggy D. Wood & husband, Tom of Prince George, his mother, Mildred I. Dunbar of Hopewell, three brothers, William E. Dunbar & wife, Barbara of Powhatan, Carl S. Dunbar & wife Brenda of Hopewell, David E. Dunbar & wife Ora of Chester, five sisters, Dolores W. Dunbar , Patricia L. Creech & husband Curt, Margie K. Dowd & husband Daniel all of Hopewell, Joan G. Kwosek & husband Gerald of Gilbert, AZ. Linda D. Marsh & husband Robert of El Paso, TX., five grandchildren, Clary Wood , Jordan Anson ( Janson) Wood and Heather, Alex, and Adam Dunbar, numerous nieces and nephews . The family will receive friends Friday, February 29, 2008 from 7-8:30 P.M. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March1, 2008 at 1:00P.M. in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens with Rev. Henry Butler, pastor of Garyâ??s United Methodist Church, officiating.
